Sugawara Kagetsu
Influenced by her father, a musician who ran a jazz club in her hometown of Nagasaki, she became interested in music from an early age and began singing and playing the piano.
After being encouraged by a friend in high school, she started her career as a singer.
In his twenties he moved to Fukuoka and began performing regularly at jazz clubs and events, gaining experience on stages in hotels, restaurants, bars, and more.
During that time, he spent short periods in Los Angeles and New York, USA, honing his skills through lessons from local musicians.
From March 2018, he stayed in Toronto, Canada's largest city, for a year and a half, and in June 2019, he recorded with some of Canada's top jazz musicians that he met there.
The crowdfunding campaign to raise funds for the release album exceeded its target amount in less than a week, and the first album was released in October of the same year.
In April 2023, we received a request to plan and release the driving CD "24hours -Sunrise Sunset-".
In October 2024, we planned and released the jazz and bossa nova compilation album "Love In The Air," featuring seven musicians from Canada and Kyushu.
Currently, they are actively performing regular jazz live shows and concerts in and outside the prefecture, mainly in Fukuoka.
With her soft yet powerful and unique voice, she excels at performing everything from speedy songs to delicate ballads.
