■Making of & Interview video features a special interview with Masaharu Fukuyama

- What Nagasaki trip would Fukuyama Masaharu recommend?
It depends on what you prioritize: food, scenery, or history.
If you're looking for "history," you could start from around the time Portuguese ships arrived in the 1500s, or from the Edo period when the country was closed to the outside world, or from the end of the Edo period... Nagasaki has a rich history, so it's also good to enjoy the "food" and "scenery" while keeping history as your base.
-- What food and places would you recommend?
Nagasaki's food superstars are definitely champon and sara udon. Yoshimune's chawanmushi is also delicious... I also recommend trying Turkish rice, bite-sized gyoza, and hatoshi. It's delicious no matter where you eat it.
The place I want to go is Shimabara. The volcanic ash in Shimabara makes the soil perfect for growing vegetables, so I'd love to go on a trip where I can eat Shimabara's delicious vegetables, enjoy gourmet food at a restaurant that serves them, and soak in the hot springs.
- Mr. Fukuyama, you travel all over the world. What do you gain from your travels?
"Food," like food culture, can only be born in a certain place. It is the history of food, the history of the city, the history of nature, the cooking methods derived from them, and the chefs, and so on. It is the history of food, the history of the city, the history of nature, and above all, the history of people. People really want to know about these fundamental things. So when you think about it that way, Stadium City is very profound. You can enjoy a variety of things, such as sports, food, accommodation, and hot springs, and if you go a little further from there, Oura Cathedral and Urakami Cathedral are nearby, so you can go anywhere. I think that if you keep the history in mind, you can enjoy it in a very profound way.
--What are the recommended points of Nagasaki Stadium City?
Without a doubt, it's the grass. The scent and the breeze are so pleasant, it's hard to find anywhere else.
- What did you think of the view of Nagasaki from the balcony of Stadium City Hotel?
I have two emotions: excitement that something amazing has happened, and bittersweetness that the old scenery has changed. But it's okay to have both. For example, I often pass through Roppongi and Shibuya, but they're completely different places from 30 years ago. The Shibuya area has quite a few hills, and you could see the sky beyond the hills, but now buildings have been built on the other side of the hills, so you can no longer see the sky. It's both sad and joyful that we're living in the future we imagined.
- Now that you've reached your 35th anniversary since your debut, are there any updates or challenges you're taking on?
I thought the joy of being able to do something that you couldn't do before was a privilege for children, but I realized that adults can also feel it.
I've actually started doing things I haven't done in the last five years, like magic and playing a blind investigator. I was able to try new things with my character, and I also tried new things with my music.
The city of Nagasaki has also been transformed. Nagasaki Stadium City is a symbolic place that creates projects and jobs, and must continue to create them, creating excitement, inspiration, services, and many other things, and continuing to update itself.

The making-of video reveals behind-the-scenes footage of the commercial, including how the creative producer takes the commercial seriously.
