Hiroshi Itsuki

Born on March 14, 1948, in Mihama-cho, Fukui Prefecture. In 1964, he won the Columbia National Singing Contest and debuted with Columbia Records. In 1970, he became the Grand Champion of the All Japan Singing Championship, and the following year, 1971, he released "Yokohama Tasogare" as "Hiroshi Itsuki." This song became a huge hit, earning him numerous awards and making him a million-selling singer overnight. He has set many records, including 50 consecutive appearances on NHK's Kohaku Uta Gassen (a record), two Japan Record Awards "Grand Prizes," three "Best Vocal Performance Awards" (a record), and ten "Gold Awards" (a record). He performs many concerts every year, and has held over 7,000 concerts to date. The group boasts over 5,000 theatrical performances, attracting a total audience of over 20 million people. They have also performed numerous times overseas, with a track record in cities around the world, including Las Vegas (Hilton Hotel), Sydney (Opera House), New York (Lincoln Center), Honolulu, San Francisco, Seattle, San Jose, Toronto, Brazil, Istanbul, Ankara, Seoul, Taipei, and Kaohsiung. In recent years, their reputation has grown, and they have received numerous awards, including the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award for Artistic Excellence (2004), the Medal with Purple Ribbon (2007), and the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette (2018). 2026 marks the 55th anniversary of Hiroshi Itsuki's "Yokohama Tasogare."
