Hironori Ura (Sax)
Alto, soprano, tenor and baritone saxophone player.
Born in 1986, he currently lives in Itoshima, Fukuoka Prefecture. He started playing the saxophone at the age of 13 and was awarded a scholarship to enter Berklee College of Music. During his time at the university, he was selected to perform in numerous school concerts, and performed with Burt Bacharach, Paula Cole, John Blackwell, and others. In October 2011, he became the first Japanese to perform at the International Days of Jazz Festival in Vinnitsa, an international jazz festival held in Ukraine, and received rave reviews. He has also performed both in Japan and abroad in Asia and Europe, and has participated in numerous recordings for TV programs and commercials. His unique and free sound expression, which he has gained from living in the natural surroundings of Itoshima, as well as jazz, has earned him high praise from all quarters. He has performed with a variety of artists across genres, including Takuya Kuroda, Paula Cole, MISIA, Toshinobu Kubota, Fumiya Fujii, GLAY, Kyogo Kawaguchi, Moto Chitose, and Little Glee Monster. In July 2019, he released his debut album, Grateful. He is currently active in various parts of Japan, in addition to his own projects.
Yoko Komori
Jazz pianist and organist
He started playing the Hammond organ at the age of 7. He became familiar with jazz through his teacher's influence.
In 2004, he entered Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA, where he studied jazz piano composition for two years.
In 2006, he moved to New York, where he played six nights a week at the Real Gonkin Hotel, and frequented live music venues and jam sessions in New York. In 2009, he moved back to his hometown of Fukuoka.
He released the CD albums "HOME" and "Take the 7 Train" with his band UOU, which he formed with friends from his time in New York. The first album topped the US jazz radio charts for two consecutive weeks.
