Tokyo Gas Engineering Solutions Corporation (Representative Director, President and CEO: Yasuhiro Konishi, hereinafter referred to as "TGES"), Seibu Gas Techno-Solutions Corporation (Representative Director, President and CEO: Director Imakirei, hereinafter referred to as "STS"), and Japanet Holdings Co., Ltd. (Representative Director, President and CEO: Asahito Takada, hereinafter referred to as "Japanet") have installed a gas cogeneration system *1 (hereinafter referred to as "CGS") and other energy facilities (hereinafter referred to as "the System") at Nagasaki Stadium City and have begun operation.

Nagasaki Stadium City is a large complex that will open in Nagasaki City in October by Regional Creation Nagasaki Co., Ltd. (CEO: Hideki Iwashita), a member of the Japanet Group. This system not only utilizes the exhaust heat generated when generating electricity in the CGS as a heat source for heating and cooling, but also achieves highly efficient energy use by optimally controlling the system according to the facility's usage and weather conditions. In addition, the CGS will operate autonomously in the event of a power outage due to a disaster, etc., thereby continuing to supply electricity and heat, thereby improving the resilience of Nagasaki Stadium City.
The implementation method is an energy service approach *2 in which TGES will install the CGS and heat source equipment within Nagasaki Stadium City and take charge of the system design, construction, maintenance, monitoring, and operation all at once. TGES, which has a strong track record in energy services, and STS, an energy service provider with strong ties to the local community, will work together to ensure highly efficient and stable operation. This is the first time that TGES will provide energy services within Nagasaki Prefecture.
By introducing this system, Nagasaki Stadium City aims to reduce its environmental impact by improving energy efficiency, and at the same time, to become a facility that local residents can feel safe in, such as by opening the facility as a safe temporary evacuation site in the event of natural disasters such as earthquakes or typhoons.
■ Achieving energy savings and CO2 reductions through our unique energy management system
In addition to highly efficient equipment such as CGS, TGES' proprietary energy management system, Helionet Advance, *3 will be introduced to perform highly accurate energy demand forecasts and optimal automatic control based on weather information and facility operating status, thereby achieving further energy savings and CO2 reductions at Nagasaki Stadium City.
■ Construction and operation of disaster-resistant energy systems
The CGS will be designed to be able to generate electricity even during power outages *4 and will use city gas *5 supplied through disaster-resistant medium-pressure pipelines. This will enable the construction and operation of an energy system that can supply electricity and heat even during power outages, contributing to BCP in the event of power outages caused by disasters, etc.
Nagasaki Stadium City, TGES, and Saibu Gas Techno Solutions will contribute to the development of the region through the advanced use of energy at Nagasaki Stadium City toward the realization of a carbon-free society and the introduction of a disaster-resilient energy system.
[Nagasaki Stadium City Overview]
Nagasaki Stadium City is a private-sector project led by Regional Creation Nagasaki, a member of the Japanet Group, to develop a complex centered around a soccer stadium, including an arena, hotel, commercial facilities, and offices. The complex will open on October 14, 2024 and will include a stadium with a capacity of approximately 20,000 seats, which will be the home stadium of the professional soccer club "V-Varen Nagasaki," an arena with a capacity of approximately 6,000 seats, which will be the home stadium of the professional basketball club "Nagasaki Velca," Japan's first stadium view hotel, a fun-filled commercial facility filled with eating, learning, and playing, and one of the largest offices in Nagasaki Prefecture that will attract domestic and international companies.

■IGNITURE*6solution provided by Tokyo Gas and TGES
This project will be provided under the "IGNITURE" solution business brand launched by Tokyo Gas and TGES. At Nagasaki Stadium City, the project will contribute to sustainable and smart business operations by optimizing the operation of facilities to save energy and reduce CO2 emissions, and by improving resilience through the use of CGS. | ![]() |
*1: A highly efficient system that uses city gas as fuel to generate electricity and heat. Waste heat generated during power generation is used to produce cooling and heating energy (chilled water, steam, and hot water) for air conditioning and hot water supply.
*4: Blackout start specification that enables the generator to start up independently and resume operation during a power outage.
*5: Supply to Nagasaki Stadium City provided by Seibu Gas Nagasaki.
