[First Overseas Partnership] Nagasaki Stadium City and the Suwon World Cup Stadium Management Foundation in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

Regional Creation Nagasaki Co., Ltd. (Head office: Nagasaki City, Nagasaki Prefecture; President and CEO: Hideki Iwashita) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Gyeonggi-do Suwon World Cup Stadium Management Foundation in South Korea on Monday, June 29 (Mon).
This agreement marks Nagasaki Stadium City's first business agreement with an overseas foundation. By collaborating with the foundation, which operates the football stadium that was a venue for the 2002 FIFA World Cup in Japan and South Korea, we will share our respective facility management expertise and work towards regional revitalization through sports and culture.

■ Background of the business agreement and areas of cooperation
The two parties have conducted inspections and exchanged opinions on Nagasaki Stadium City twice, in October 2025 and March 2026, with the Suwon World Cup Stadium Management Foundation conducting the visits. The Foundation expressed interest in the "daily use" of the facility on non-match days and in the operation methods of the multi-functional complex, which led to dialogue and the signing of this agreement. Based on this agreement, we will promote initiatives in the following four areas.

① Implementation of Japan-Korea youth soccer friendly matches and sports and cultural exchanges.
② To revitalize exchanges in sports and cultural activities and support the formation of networks among related organizations.
③ Implementation of benchmarking regarding facility operation and business management, and promotion of staff exchange programs.
④ Mutual cooperation in the use of infrastructure facilities and joint participation in other necessary projects.

Suwon World Cup Stadium is a symbolic space of South Korean football, conveying the excitement of the 2002 FIFA World Cup co-hosted by Japan and South Korea. The Gyeonggi-do Suwon World Cup Stadium Foundation uses this space as a foundation to promote various projects aimed at the advancement of sports and the improvement of the cultural welfare of the people of Gyeonggi Province. Moving forward, we hope to share these experiences and values with the people of Regional Creation Nagasaki and develop them into sports and cultural exchanges between our two countries. Furthermore, we hope that these efforts will provide new experiences and opportunities for growth for future generations.

On the other hand, today's stadiums are growing together with the local community and transforming into complex hubs where culture, tourism, and industry merge. Our foundation is also preparing for a new leap forward by utilizing the vacant land of the stadium to promote the creation of a techno valley where employment and housing, sports and culture are harmonized. In this process, our foundation has been paying attention to the success story of Regional Creation Nagasaki, which created a new landmark for Nagasaki through a complex development centered on the stadium. We believe that this interest and empathy has led to today's meaningful business agreement.

Going forward, if we can mutually share the infrastructure and operational experience that both organizations possess, I am confident that this business agreement will not merely be an exchange between companies and institutions, but will serve as an opportunity to build a new model of mutual benefit for sports and cultural exchange between the two countries, and for the revitalization of each region. In soccer, great goals always begin with a great assist. We recognize that Suwon World Cup Stadium is a place where countless dynamic historical events and dramas have unfolded. The biggest difference between us and Nagasaki Stadium City is that we are a "privately built and privately operated" project. We hope that sharing information between both parties will open up new ideas.
While the Suwon World Cup Stadium is a dynamic stadium with a grand scale, ours is very compact. However, we believe it has a different strength in that it is multifunctional and can be used on a daily basis. In that context, we heard that the foundation also has a plan to transform the stadium into a "city" in the future, and we felt that it is very compatible with Nagasaki Stadium City. To make it a "city" rather than just a facility, it is necessary to continuously refine it with ingenuity, in addition to profitability. We look forward to hearing valuable insights from the foundation as we interact with the reforms they will be undertaking.

Nagasaki Stadium City has been open for about two years now, but currently, it hasn't been able to attract enough visitors from overseas. We hope that in the future, many soccer, basketball, and entertainment fans from South Korea will visit Nagasaki. We would like to share information so that we can be of some help to you, using the knowledge we have cultivated as a private company and our methods of collaborating with local governments and administrations, and contribute to the mutual development of both sides.

Furthermore, matches between Japan and South Korea, including soccer and baseball, are always passionate and intense battles. On the pitch, sparks fly as both sides fiercely compete, determined not to lose. But off the pitch, I sincerely hope for a future where the sports worlds of both countries respect each other and develop together.
